Womack & Womack is an American duo made up of the couple Linda and Cécil Womack whose particularity, apart from having produced hit songs, is that Linda is none other than the daughter of Cécil's former partner, Sam Cooke.
The same Sam Cooke with whom he will form 'The Valentinos' in 1961, a group that will know its hour of glory with the title "Lookin' for a love" a year later in 1962.
Linda and Cécil officially become a couple at the end of the 70s and the musical duo will begin to produce titles from 1983 with the release of a first album called "Love wars". Album which will offer them their first title classified with the single "T.K.O." at least in the United States. The next one, "Love wars", will offer them their first title classified this time only on the Old Continent. Album that will produce a 3rd title ranked this time on both sides of the Atlantic with the Single "Baby I'm scared of you".
New album "Radio M.U.S.C. man" two years later in 1985, album with less success and which will struggle to produce the slightest Single of big caliber except the title "Strange and funny".
Same for the album "Starbright" which will be released the following year in 1986 and which will get out in extremis with the title "Soul love/Soul man".
But that's without counting on the release of the album "Conscience" in 1988, album of planetary consecration, the real thanks to 3 huge titles that are "Life's just a ballame", "Celebrate the world" but also, and above all, the enormous "Teardrops". Flagship Single of their discography which will set fire to all the Dancefloors of the planet that year.
Other albums and Singles will be released later under the group names 'The House Of Zekkariyas' then 'ZEK' but none will be able to match the level of success reached during this year 1988.

1964...the debut in grouped mode of the very young Cecil who does not imagine for a single second at that moment what awaits him in the future...
1964...a first significant experience in any case since he was already going to achieve his first successes when he was only 17 years old...
1984...it would take about 20 years for Cecil and Linda to meet, get married and then join forces to form a musical duo which would release its first tracks in the middle of the 80s...
1984...it took them a while to get there, but given the level of success achieved from the start, there are real reasons to imagine that the sequel can only be very interesting...

1988...one could have imagined that this sequel would have the greatest difficulty in matching the level of success of its predecessor, but it will still come out on top in the end...
1988...and 3 ! Three mega hits just for this year 1988 is what we call a HUGE success ! The duo is really on cloud nine and does not intend to come down anytime soon...

1989...the duo will completely unscrew at the very end of the 80s and find themselves relegated to the rank of extras. Hard law of the trade...
1991...they will manage to bounce back at the very beginning of the 90s but it will be the last time that this will be the case unfortunately...
1991...the rest will be much more confidential and will not resemble in any way what they will have known during the previous decade...

1992...a 90s decade that was much more complicated to manage than expected, while all the lights were still green not so long ago...
1993...the duo will begin a gradual change of identity hoping that this can reverse the trend. Not sure that this is their best idea...
1993...because the changes of identity confuse the cards especially when the group reached Nirvana under its old name...
1993...so no one can relate anymore, both the fans from the beginning and the general public who can't identify this group at its true value...
2001...after that it could have worked but unfortunately it will not be the case. The only notable fact is that the duo will have become in a few years a real family business...
2001...the couple's daughters begin to gain strength and gradually take over the torch from their parents...
2001...it must be said that having 2 parents of this level of talent can only help to undertake a possible musical career...
2004...the parents will therefore gradually fade away in favor of their offspring. A passing of the torch that is in the order of things...
