Jennifer, whose real name is Chantal Benoist, is a French singer who started her artistic career not as a singer but as a model at the start of the 1970s.
It was only in 1976 that she really switched to music with the release of a first Single called "Do it for me". A particularly successful first Single since it made a real hit in France and then quickly in Europe, launching the career of the young singer in a sensational way.
She released a debut album "Walking in space" the following year in 1977, which produced in addition to the previous Single another Single called "Love has a taste of tears", a less successful Single.
New album "Stai con me" in 1978, album from which the Single "Be with me" will be extracted mainly.
The early 1980s saw the release of the album "Jennifer" in 1982, a relatively successful album.
However, she will end in style in 1983 with the release of the album "Via dolce vita", an album which will experience its heyday with the Single of the same name.
A success that will be her last since she decides to put aside her artistic career and profit from her family life, notably by marrying the actor Gérard Lanvin, to whom she will have 2 children.

1976 ... a single title, THIS title, was enough for the young Chantal to pass from shadow to light in a shattering way to say the least. And at the same time inscribes her name in the musical Pantheon of the 80s on the French side. HU-GE !

1981 ... she unfortunately missed the turn of the 80s with a style and above all a sound that was too approximate for the time. Too bad because she really didn't lack much to turn the tide. Hard law of the trade ...
1981 ... a shame because she had the potential to do great things during this decade, especially since the 1970s had launched her on the front of the stage in an ideal way !
1982...and it's not for lack of good will but nothing works now, everything that comes out only has a very limited level of success...
1982...she believed in it until the end no matter what. After that the task really became more and more difficult to try to stay in touch...
