Art Mengo, born Michel Armengot, is a French singer-songwriter from the so-called "A la Toulousaine" sector. Son of Spanish Republican refugees in France, he was unfortunately born with a 70% deafness problem that severely handicapped him during adolescence. Handicap which will be lifted after a surgical operation, revealing to it a sound world hitherto unsuspected. He then begins to compose and it is his brother-in-law, Patrice Guirao, who writes the texts for him. And the tandem works wonderfully. It was in 1988 that fate gave him a big boost when he brought his model of "Perfumes of his life" to Studio Polygone in Toulouse. The latter signed him immediately, the single came out and it was an immediate success. But the album will not be released until 1990, following a legal imbroglio. This did not prevent him from obtaining a brilliant Victoire de la Musique in the "Male Revelation" category in 1991. A second album was released in 1992, but the success was no longer there. He then turned to writing for others and in the following years would write titles for Henri Salvador, Philippe Léotard, Clémence Lhomme, Enrico Macias, Florent Pagny, Jane Birkin, Johnny Hallyday, Juliette Gréco, Viktor Lazlo, Clarika, Liane Foly…

1997 ... even if the style has evolved in 10 years, the melodic quality will have remained constant. Hat the artist !
