3rd Bass is an American group formed in 1988 by MC Search (real name Michael Berrin), Prime Minister Pete Nice (real name Peter Nash) and DJ Richie Rich (real name Richard Lawson).
Group which will experience its first success straight away with the successful release in 1989 of their first album “The cactus album”. Album from which the Single “Steppin’ to the A.M.” will be first extracted, a Single which will also be popular with the public the same year.
The same album will produce two new high-calibre Singles with “The gas face” and “Brooklyn-Queens” a year later in 1990, two Singles which will experience notable success throughout the Anglo-Saxon sphere.
But it is above all the following album "Derelicts of dialect" which will bring them two years later in 1991 a semblance of global recognition, notably thanks to the enormous Single "Pop goes the weasel".
Major successes which will be the last because the little that will come out subsequently will only experience a very limited level of success...

1989...a first title which will allow the group to make a remarkable entrance onto the American music scene. Case to follow as they say...
1990...a change of decade which will allow the group to show that the success encountered on their first title was anything but the result of chance...
1990...there is success on both sides of the Atlantic and it is therefore certain that the group will end up producing THE title that will really make the difference...
1990...the big takeoff will not take place on this title but we are getting closer, that's for sure. You have to give time to time as they say...
1991...it is THIS title which will finally reward all their efforts and at the same time offer them a direct ticket to posterity. HU-GE !
1992...as is very often the case in these cases, when you reach the top of the mountain you have to go back down. A descent which will prove more violent than expected...
1992...we find them on the soundtrack of the film 'Gladiator'. A soundtrack which, like the film, will unfortunately go somewhat unnoticed...
2000...after this poor performance we thought we would never see them again and yet here they are again almost 8 years later. A very furtive return which will not bring anything very concrete...
