Breathtaking view...

The Trammps is an American band formed in 1972 (a group from a group called The Moods itself from a group called The Volcanos) and originally composed of Jimmy Ellis, Earl Young and the brothers Stanley and Harold Wave.

A group that will get their first hit the same year with the title "Zing! Went the string of my heart".

Success confirmed and amplified the following year in 1973 with the title "Love epidemic", a title that we will find on their first album "Trammps", an album that will not be released until 2 years later in 1975.

A year 1975 that will see the release of another album called "The legendary Zing album", an album that will produce the same year their first top global hit with the single "Hold back the night".

But it was especially the year 1976 that allowed them to hit the jackpot with the enormous album "Disco Inferno", an album that would remain the highest ranked of all and that would produce what would remain as their reference title on the single side with the title that bears the name of the album.

Other albums and other singles would be released later, especially during the 80s, but none would match the level of success achieved by the group in the mid-70s.

To discover or rediscover...

Tracks :

1972...the adventure will start in luxury cover mode with this title dating from 1935 and popularized by Judy Garland. A revisited version that is at least successful since it will bring them their first success...

1972...a year 1972 that only rhymes with luxury covers since this time they decide to revisit the Dominoes title dating from 1951. Good choice once again...

1973...a very favorable start to their career since the group had a string of successes in a most impressive way...

1973...not only are they having a string of successes but the level of influence is spreading across the entire planet...

1974...certainly some will do a little less well like this one but it will be classified regardless. Everything is going well...

1974...in just a few years the group has become one of the biggest names of the moment, it must be said...

1974...here they are again in luxury cover mode with this revisited version of the Isley Brothers' title dating from 1959. And it works once again...

1975...there are titles that work and those that work a little less on the public side. This one will be part of the second category unfortunately...

1975...a year 1975 that starts more or less in general indifference. Too bad because they are not without merit, far from it...

1975...as for this title, it will completely go under the radar. Afterwards, it could be that the year ends much better than it started...

1975...business is starting to pick up with this new title. As it turns out, in music, everything is always possible as long as you put some good will into it...

1975...and there will be good will on THIS title because they will sign here their first top planetary hit. It will have taken them a few years to achieve it but it is now done...

1976...as much as the previous title will have made people talk about it, this one will go unnoticed to say the least. John who laughs and John who cries...

1976...the previous decline is quickly forgotten with this new title, a title which will allow them to remind us that they intend not to give up until the end...

1976...one title works, one title doesn't work, it alternates constantly and it ends up making you dizzy. Too bad for this title...

1976...this one will experience a slightly more favorable fate which reassures somewhat about the continuation of events. Everything remains possible at this stage...

1976...they still managed to rank 3 titles during this year 1976 which is not nothing. And it could be that the best is yet to come...

1977...and the best, here it is ! They will sign here what will undoubtedly remain as their reference title, notably thanks to the fact that it will be part of a small film called 'Saturday night fever'! A huge title that will offer them a direct ticket to posterity. MAS-TER-FUL !

1977...a year 1977 which will undoubtedly remain as their best Vintage. Everything goes well for them even if this title will inevitably do less well than its predecessor...

1977...a new top hit to add to a list that is starting to include a few. When it wants to, it wants to, as they say...

1978...not sure they'll be able to repeat the feat later, but what's taken is taken no more. Now that they've made history, everything else is just a bonus...

1978...what is certain is that they say to themselves that the adventure is worth continuing and that there will surely be some more great successes later...

1979...and in principle they are absolutely right. After between dreams and reality, there can be some discrepancies in the end...

1980...they begin this new decade here with the firm intention of not giving up and no matter if success weakens from year to year...

1980...as long as they still have material in the boxes why throw in the towel prematurely ? That's what they tell themselves every day when they get up...

1980...it is clear that the best years are now behind them but a miracle is still possible...

1981...even if it seems unlikely at this stage. The level of success is in free fall and few titles manage to get through in the end...

1983...yet they are not without merit, far from it. But the competition is plentiful at the beginning of the 80s and it does not give any gifts...

1983...so it's hard to exist at the top of the hierarchy when the level of inspiration is no longer quite what it was. It's even mission impossible...

1984...they will experience one last major success with this title and it is therefore certain that the rest will not be the most favorable for them...

1984...they hang on as best they can but the situation becomes more and more complicated. Beware of danger as they say...

1984... it seems difficult in these conditions to envisage a brighter future in the years to come. It would even be rather the opposite that is looming on the horizon...

1986...the production of titles slows down year after year and the few titles that are released are only released in targeted countries...

1993... hence necessarily a level of possible influence of the most limited. This is how we will lose them for almost 7 years before finding them again on this new title...

1997...this association will allow them to get people talking about them a little bit again, which is already not bad. But it will definitely be the last time...

2003...they started with luxury covers, they end with luxury covers, notably with this Jerry Butler title dating from 1969. The circle is complete...
