Are they coming for the holidays ?

David et Jonathan is a French duo composed of David Marouani, better known as David Gategno, and Jonathan Bermudes.

They will experience two first major successes with the Singles "Gina", but also and especially "Bella vita", both released in 1987.

But it is above all a year later in 1988 that they will definitively become part of the musical legend of the 80s on the French side thanks to the huge hit "Est-ce que tu voien pour les vacances ?". Gold title served on a platter by Didier Barbelivien and which will stay as one of the most emblematic titles of the decade.

Despite releasing other Singles thereafter, the duo never regained an equivalent level of success and eventually went their separate ways in 1990.

Jonathan will quickly leave the world of show biz, which will not be the case with David who will compose for him for artists such as Natasha St Pier, Nolwenn Leroy, Tina Arena, Céline Dion, Garou, Julio Iglsias and other Isabelle Boulay, nothing only that !

1987 ... a first title which already says a lot about the musical orientation of the 2 friends. Ultimate Slow special for midinette, but with formidable efficiency !

1987 ... we take the same ones and start over. This will be the case most of the time. A bias claimed and assumed !

1988 ... and it pays ! Proof with THIS title. A title which alone symbolizes the 1980s, an extremely simple title but with contagious freshness and candor. They simply sign here what will undoubtedly remain as one of the most emblematic titles of this decade on the French side. HU-GE !

1988 ... it will be very difficult for them to repeat the feat a second time. And yet, they even dared to change the tempo. Unfortunately, a change that won't pay off this time around ...

1988 ... an adventure which lasted only a few years but which did not ask for more. A very nice duo, my faith, who simply enjoyed themselves and who also gave us some at the same time. Well done boys !

1988... given the few titles produced we might as well highlight all the titles not officially released as Singles, it's only fair as they say...

1988... little-known titles but which are still an integral part of their - very short - discography. We might as well take advantage of this to show that they also exist...

1988...only one album in all and we will have to be content with that. A shooting star duo who will still have marked their era whatever the case...

1988...most people know them mainly for one title but they will have produced others, the proof with these few additional titles...
